OFM is the glue that connects radio listeners across the central and northern regions of South Africa. Its 236 000 listeners (BRC RAM 2018) are relatively affluent, but truly diverse, coming as they do from different corners of South Africa.
What they have in common is a loyalty to, and affinity for OFM, listening for on average 17 hours a week. This is the highest instance of time spent listening to any commercial radio in South Africa. While music plays a large role in the station content, regular news, traffic and weather crossings ensure that listeners are kept informed – whether they are on the road, at work or at home. The station won two awards at the 2019 Liberty Radio awards and was nominated for numerous others.
While OFM has the second largest footprint in South Africa for a regional radio station, it is truly a ‘community’ station, sponsoring or hosting sporting, cultural and business events across the areas it broadcasts to. In this way its dedicated team ensure the station touches lives in a positive way, each and every day.
