David obtained his BCom from UPE in 1986. He joined Algoa FM in 1989 and was appointed as the managing director of the radio station in February 2000. David was inducted into the South African Radio Hall of Fame in April 2018. He has worked as a Broadcast Liaison Officer at the 2010 and 2018 Soccer World Cup in South Africa and Russia respectively. He was appointed Group CEO in December 2018.
Angela joined the group in April 2010. She completed her articles at Deloitte & Touche and worked for them in Johannesburg and San Francisco before moving to the UK where she worked in transactional services as a financial analyst for a number of large orginisations including the National Health Services.
Rivak has a strong background in training, having managed his own training franchise for several years. He joined Radio 702 in 1987, rising to the position of sales manager. He subsequently worked for Primedia Group as Group sales director until co-founding United Stations in March 2000. He joined the AME group when the company was acquired in November 2002.
Alfie began his career with Algoa FM as a production engineer in 1990. During his career of close-on 30 years, he has successfully held many different positions including Producer, Presenter, News Journalist, Technical Manager, Programme Manager and Operations Director. Alfie has served as an Executive on the Board of Umoya Communications (PTY) Ltd t/a Algoa FM since September 2008. Under his guidance, he has led the station’s product output to countless new heights and accolades, including the coveted Commercial Station of the Year Award in 2018. He was appointed as Managing Director of Algoa FM on 1 April 2019.
Lance has worked in the radio and media industry for almost 40 years. He started his radio journey in the 1980’s on the Campus Radio Station – The Voice of Wits (now VOW FM). In December 1986, he joined Radio 5 as Programme Manager and became the Station Manager and was responsible for the station’s rebrand to ‘5FM’. Over the years, he has consulted to various Radio and Media Organisations and frequently presents radio talks at conferences and consults to various radio stations and organisations on issues including strategy, management, marketing, sales and presentation. From 2010 to 2019, he headed up the MTN and Liberty Radio Awards programme. In May 2015, he contracted to the MSG Group to stabilise programming and operations at POWER 98.7 FM in the role of Head of Programming. In December 2019, he joined Classic 1027 FM as General Manager and has been steering operations following the station emerging from business rescue. He serves on the boards of radio stations based in Botswana and Zambia.
Nick was appointed as CEO of Central Media Group on 1 March 2019. He joined OFM in 2001 and has held various positions, from promotions and events coordinator, producer, presenter, marketing manager and general manager of the group.
Candy joined RadioHeads/ MediaHeads 360 as the Managing Director in November 2018. She has 22 years of experience in the South African media landscape, with 17 of those years being in radio. She crafted her passion for radio in some of South Africa’s most prominent media institutions and across some of the country’s most loved radio stations.
Mosehla has been working within the media industry for over 10 years. She has a deep passion for radio as a powerful medium of mass communication and believes in the theory that radio is the theatre of the mind. She is currently the operations director at Moneyweb, which is South Africa’s premier online source of investment information. It focuses on producing independent, high-quality investment, company and personal finance news and analyses on various platforms, including the internet, radio, print, newsletters and through various event activations.
She began her career with a short internship at Primedia Broadcasting before joining Classic 1027 as a producer for the Classic Business Show. She joined the Moneyweb team in 2014.
